Authonomy for beginner authors.

I've been on the authonomy website, a chaotic place where ones work is "judged" by other authors. Some comments I received for my Sci-fi story were, "fantasic" "it grabbed me from the start" followed by "would you care to read my work".... or messages such as: "care for a book-swap...!" Some comments were for me, (I suffer from dyslexia, yeah, go on, laugh, a word blind author, well, just you see pal,) very helpful, they were from the well-meaning authors whose work was not bad, as oppossed to the rubbish the smarmy back-slappers were turning out.
My daughter is still on it, but not for long, she has already deleted 75%. Her book is "changing facts into fiction" it is a story of the Holocaust, Germany 1933-1945. She needed help with her syntax, etc. as she she is what she calls, half-German, half-English, and I, being of no help whatsoever advised her to stay on until she was happy with the results gained from the comments of authors I referred her too.
As for finding a publisher, (you must be joking) well any agent or publisher viewing the "top books", mostly c##p from the backslappers, would have turned away in dismay.
We all know "you don't get something for nothing" so, is there an ulterior motive behind Harper Collins "generous offer", being on the lookout for new and talented authors.
I was told long ago if I wanted to get rich quick I should either grow mariuana or play the lotto, so I do,- play the lotto I mean.
So, fellow authors, search for an agent, for tastes and opinions change. Never give up, never stop writing, never take no for an answer, for without people like you this sad world of ours, with its silly wars, unending poverty and undying greed, would be even sadder, more tearful and dreadfully boring.
